{"id":2433357,"date":"2022-04-29T14:47:33","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T18:47:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/?p=2433357"},"modified":"2022-04-29T14:47:33","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T18:47:33","slug":"5g-radiation-studied-in-south-carolina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/5g-radiation-studied-in-south-carolina\/","title":{"rendered":"5G Radiation Studied In South Carolina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Study Finds High Radiofrequency Radiation on Streets of Downtown Columbia, South Carolina from Cell Antennas, including 4G and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/verizon-ceo-breaks-down-major-launch-of-5g-networks\/\">5G<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON, April 28, 2022\u2013<\/strong>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spandidos-publications.com\/10.3892\/wasj.2022.157\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"4\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">study in the World Academy of Sciences Journal <\/span><\/a>measured levels of radiofrequency radiation (RFR), from wireless networks including 5G, in the city of Columbia, South Carolina and found the highest RFR levels in areas where the cell phone base station antennas were placed on top of utility poles, street lamps, traffic lights or other posts near to the street. Wireless installations called\u00a0 \u201csmall cells\u201d often encapsulate cell antennas in cylinders on short poles and are designed not to be noticeable. When the study\u2019s authors compared their findings to a <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31202043\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"5\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">2019 published review<\/span><\/a> on the mean outdoor exposure level of European cities (0.07 to 1.27 V\/m) to the mean of Columbia, South Carolina (1,240 V\/m), it placed Columbia on top of the European scale.<\/p>\n<p>The Columbia, S.C. study concluded that the highest exposure areas were due to two reasons:\u00a0 cell phone base antennas on top of high-rise buildings provide \u201cgood cell coverage reaching far away, but creating elevated exposure to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/rf-energy-wifi-health-risk\/\">radiofrequency<\/a> electromagnetic fields at the immediate vicinity; and cell phone base station antennas installed on top of utility poles have placed the radiation source closer to humans walking on street level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion continued, \u201cRF exposure levels from mobile phone base stations antennas near the street level reached high levels. It is thus recommended that all such close proximity transmitters should be labeled with relevant signs to warn of high RF exposure in the area. The study pointed to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gencourt.state.nh.us\/statstudcomm\/committees\/1474\/reports\/5G%20final%20report.pdf\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"6\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">the New Hampshire State Commission Report on 5G<\/span><\/a> which has 15 recommendations including that warnings that be posted near antennas.<\/p>\n<h2>The Expansion Of 5G Network<\/h2>\n<p>The Columbia, S.C. study conclusion continued, \u201cCell phone base station antennas should be distinct and noticeable so that people who need to limit their exposure, have been given a chance to do so by distancing themselves from the RF sources. Considering the current trend of cell phone service providers expanding their 5G network, more utility pole base station antennas are expected. Consequently, the public exposure is also likely to increase in coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked about this and prior studies, Lennart Hardell, M.D. (co-author of this study,) stated \u201cOur <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30365129\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"7\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">published research <\/span><\/a>has concluded that RF radiation is a human carcinogen. We recommend that 5G is not rolled out since the full consequences for human health and the environment have not been adequately investigated. Studies are urgently needed.\u201d Hardell is an oncologist and professor and is also with the Environment and Cancer Research Foundation Sweden. Hardell also served in an expert working group of the World Health Organization International Agency for Research in Cancer in reviewing radiofrequency radiation and health.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hardell is one of the more than\u00a0 400 scientists and physicians who have signed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.5gappeal.eu\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"8\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">European Union 5G Appeal<\/span><\/a> which states, \u201c5G will substantially increase exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) on top of the 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, etc. for telecommunications already in place. RF-EMF has been proven to be harmful for humans and the environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over 3,500 medical doctors signed onto a 2020 Consensus statement that wireless RF has been proven to damage biological systems at intensities below government limits (<a href=\"https:\/\/phiremedical.org\/2020-nir-consensus-statement-signatories\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"9\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">See signatures here<\/span><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/phiremedical.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/2020-Non-Ionising-Radiation-Consensus-Statement.pdf\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"10\" data-ogsc=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><span data-ogsc=\"rgb(17, 85, 204)\">PDF of Consensus Statement<\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe proliferation of \u201csmall cells\u201d is increasing public exposure to cell tower RF radiation. The Court ruling in our successful lawsuit against the FCC confirms that the research has not been adequate reviewed and government limits for RF exposure are not science based.\u00a0\u00a0 The Environmental Health Trust continues to call on the government to thoroughly review all of the recent, peer-reviewed research that demonstrates harm from wireless radiation,\u201d said Devra Davis, Ph.D., epidemiologist and president of the EHT. Davis has spoken before Congress on the science of cell phone radiation. \u201cThe FCC is using studies that were done back when most of the public still had flip phones.
