But Few Are Paying Attention."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A quick Google Trends search for terms like \u201cbitcoin\u201d or \u201ccrypto\u201d quickly shows you how people have lost interest in the asset class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"min-height:400px\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\" defer=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/0Lkqs\/embed.js?v=1\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/0Lkqs\/full.png\" alt=\"\"><\/noscript><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The stagnant price action for major crypto assets like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/how-would-a-cbdc-affect-bitcoin-and-other-crypto\/\">bitcoin <\/a>(BTC), ether (ETH) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/where-dogecoin-features-among-2023s-most-popular-bitcoin-alternatives\/\">solana <\/a>(SOL) has lulled many into a state of boredom-induced capitulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, certain recent events in crypto \u2014 especially those regarding crypto\u2019s integration into traditional finance systems \u2014 are reason to believe that the table is being set for the next crypto bull run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From crypto ETFs (exchange-traded funds) that may be on the horizon to new use cases for stablecoins on various blockchains, broader crypto adoption seems right around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the ones who will likely benefit most from this broader adoption are those who will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/5-tips-on-how-to-take-advantage-of-a-boring-crypto-market\/\">put the work in and invest while things are boring<\/a>, as opposed to those who only become interested again once a new bull market is in full swing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, snap yourself out of that apathetic state and take heed of the following happenings in crypto while everyone else is nodding off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Spot Bitcoin ETF<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s been over 10 years since the Winklevoss twins \u2014&nbsp;co-originators of Facebook and owners of the Gemini crypto exchange \u2014 first filed an application for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/spot-bitcoin-etfs-a-reality-in-the-making-following-grayscales-triumph-over-sec\/\">spot bitcoin ETF<\/a>. And, finally, it seems we\u2019re on the verge of getting one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last week at a small event at Pub Key, a bitcoin-themed bar in New York City, James Seyffart, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg, shared that he believes there\u2019s a 75% chance that the US Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) will approve a spot bitcoin ETF before the year is out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If Seyffart is right, then chances are you have less than four months to buy some bitcoin before the likes of a major financial institution like BlackRock or Fidelity offers a securitized version of the asset to everyone in America who has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/retirement-planning-for-business-owners-10-strategies-to-boost-your-savings\/\">401(k)<\/a>, an IRA or any sort of traditional brokerage account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seyffart believes that billions of dollars will likely flow into bitcoin upon the issuance of the spot ETF, which means we could see a rise in BTC\u2019s price in the not-too-distant future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Ether (Ethereum) Futures ETF<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/151012\/these-are-the-high-profile-ethereum-futures-etf-applications-currently-in-play\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">have speculated<\/a> that an ether futures ETF could come to market even before the spot bitcoin ETF does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asset management firms Ark Invest and 21 Shares have both filed with the SEC to bring such an ETF to market, the news of which caused ETH\u2019s price to spike by over 10%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While this type of ETF wouldn\u2019t require the settlement of funds in ether, it would further legitimize the asset\u2019s status in the eyes of institutional investors, which could be a boon for the price of ETH in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PayPal Issues A Stablecoin On Ethereum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, PayPal announced that it would issue a US dollar-pegged stablecoin \u2014 PayPal USD (PYUSD) \u2014 on ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since PayPal has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/218493\/paypals-total-active-registered-accounts-from-2010\/\" target=\"_blank\">over 400 million users<\/a>, this stablecoin could quickly gain traction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more people who use this stablecoin, the more ETH has to be used to fuel these transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the more ETH is used to pay for transactions, the more valuable the asset tends to become, as ETH is predominantly valued based on its network effects \u2014 or the number of people using the asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visa Will Use The Solana Blockchain To Settle Stablecoin Transactions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In early September, Visa announced it would settle transactions using USD Coin (USDC) on the solana blockchain. The credit card company plans to employ the combination of USDC and solana to \u201cmodernize cross-border money movement,\u201d according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.visa.com\/about-visa\/newsroom\/press-releases.releaseId.19881.html\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">press release from Visa<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If even a fraction of the over <a href=\"https:\/\/usa.visa.com\/dam\/VCOM\/global\/about-visa\/documents\/aboutvisafactsheet.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">250 billion transactions settled on Visa per year<\/a> is settled on solana, we should see an increase in the value of SOL, the native currency of solana, which fuels transactions on the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While some crypto exchanges have delisted SOL this year due to regulatory uncertainty, others haven\u2019t. See which of the top crypto exchanges still support SOL if you\u2019re looking to get your hands on some in the wake of this Visa news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dare To Be Different<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While the happenings listed in this piece shouldn\u2019t necessarily be an indication to start purchasing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valuewalk.com\/new-data-shows-a-decline-in-crypto-based-transactions-are-people-even-using-it\/\">crypto assets<\/a> <em>en masse<\/em>, they should remind you that while crypto markets have been sleepy, the traditional world of finance is beginning to embrace crypto, which will likely be good for the asset class in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to capitalize on this trend of crypto being more broadly adopted, you may want to take action now while the market is quiet. Most will do the opposite, which is why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barrons.com\/news\/three-out-of-four-bitcoin-investors-have-lost-money-study-01668454507\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">most crypto investors lose money<\/a>, especially when new to the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal here is to not be like most.
